Hey, again! This week's post is a little different. Instead of taking something from scriptures and sharing my thoughts on it, I'm going to share a little encouragement for those who qualified for Nationals in the Bible Bee and for those who didn't. First, to all you qualifiers.
Congratulations!!!! It's a big thing to qualify for Nats, at least, it is for me, being the my first time. And being a first time qualifier, I have found it overwhelming with all the stuff I need to study and memorize. Maybe you're a first time qualifer and feeling the same. Don't give up! You can do this! Pray that God will help you tnrough this, make sure you don't miss out on all the material on the forums (The participant community and Hangout chats/Google Chat chats), and don't be afraid to ask people for help/tips or for any specific study sets. More experienced qualifiers, you can do the same. And for both the first-timers and the experienced, don't lose sight of what you're doing. It's not about getting high scores to pass the CBT/MCT and Orals, not about applause or the prize, but rooted yourself in God's word and learning more about Him. Have fun in the Nats study!
For those who didn't make it, you still did a very good job! It's not easy. I trust though that as you studied Ruth you learned a lot, and grew because of all the Lord showed you. If you dedicated your summer to that and not the competition, you DID win in God's eyes! He doesn't care about the prize or the competition - let alone if you won! He only cares about what happens in the heart! I wnat to encourage you all to keep studying God's word throughout Nats and the off-season. You can't go wrong with that! That is, unless you read it, or you hear it, but you do not do it (James 1:22-25).
God bless you!
Forever in Christ,
Daniel
I Will Search
Through caverns deep
And forests green,
I will search for my keep.
Through oceans wide
And mountains high,
In places to hide,
In my greatest sigh,
I will search for Your presence.
Through meadows tall,
Through village peasants,
I will search for Your call
And Your presence.
Through rivers long
And riding the horse and essence,
And years among,
I will search for Your presence.
